On July 1, 2025, I experienced a startling reminder in my own home when my shower door spontaneously shattered. The glass - designed to be tempered and safe - exploded without warning, scattering sharp fragments across my bathroom. Thankfully, I wasn’t in the shower at the time.

This isn’t just my story - it’s a cautionary tale for every homeowner and designer. When we overlook details like material quality, installation integrity, or aging fixtures, beauty can lose its protective layer.
