The Power of Light: Reviving What We Overlook

There’s something quietly humbling about a neglected space. It’s easy to ignore—especially a corner nearby, a space we’re barely in, tucked away from our daily flow. But in Feng Shui, no corner is insignificant. Energy collects in stillness over time, and so can feelings of heaviness or stagnation.

In my own home, there was such a corner—once overlooked, left in shadow. Each time I passed it, I felt a gentle tug… as if that space was asking for more care, more light, more intention.

So I decided to act. A sleek track light now graces the corner, softly illuminating my degrees and certifications—symbols of my hard work and growth. Suddenly, the energy shifted. That small change breathed life into what had been a dim and forgotten corner.

In Feng Shui, this particular area of my living room falls in the southeast sector, known as the wealth and prosperity zone. It is believed that when we tend to this area, we invite new opportunities and abundance. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but shortly after making the change, I began receiving two unexpected real estate inquiries. It felt as though the space—and my own energy—had aligned to open a new flow.

Light has a way of not only improving esthetics but also transforming how a space feels. It can turn an unnoticed corner into a quiet celebration of your journey and accomplishments.

Sometimes the smallest corners hold the greatest potential for change.
